About Last Light Running
Last Light Running was built from a simple belief: running is better when it is shared.
Founded by Steve and Megan Lemke in Colorado Springs, Last Light is a running community first. We are building a place for runners who care about the miles, the people beside them, and the stories that happen long before and long after race day.
Megan is an ultrarunner, Boston Marathon finisher, mountain runner, mother, and the heart of the Last Light community. She understands what it means to train through busy family life, show up when the weather is bad, chase big goals, and keep moving when the miles get hard.
Steve is a U.S. Army veteran and business leader who helps bring the vision to life through planning, operations, and long-term strategy. Together, Steve and Megan are building Last Light around the same values that carry runners through difficult miles: consistency, grit, humility, support, and community.
The idea for Last Light grew from years of running, crewing, parenting, training, racing, and spending time on Colorado trails. It became more real through Megan’s journey toward the Leadville Trail 100 and the symbolism of Hope Pass, a place that represents effort, endurance, and the truth that no one reaches the hardest places alone.
Our logo is inspired by the Hope Pass ridgeline, where the final light of the Leadville 100 begins to fade for so many runners still moving through the mountains. That moment, when the day gets long, the miles get hard, and the only way forward is together, is the spirit behind Last Light.
Our name is inspired by the runners who keep going when the sun starts to set. Our mission is to create a community where every runner feels welcome, whether they are training for their first mile, their first 5K, their next marathon, or one hundred miles through the mountains.
Last Light exists to bring runners together.
Built for the long run.
